It was a moment of calm in the middle of the apocalypse, and Andrew took this opportunity to catch up on all the comic books he had missed while trying to help the real heroes save the world. And he had missed a lot! A stack of newly purchased comic books sat before him, as he excitedly opened the first one.
Connor snuck up on him, startling him into dropping the comic book. "Don't sneak like that!" Andrew said, gingerly picking up the book and checking it for damage.
"What are you reading?" Connor asked, peering at him curiously.
"Batman." He gestured at the stack in front of him. "You can read some of them if you're careful."
Connor picked one of the comic books up and stared at it as if it was a foreign object. "What is it?"
"It's a comic book - you've never read a comic book?"
Connor blinked. "What is it?"
"It's - " Andrew sighed, and held the issue of Batman up as an example. "The comic book is the highest art form known to man."
Over the next few hours, Andrew taught him everything he knew. All about Batman, and Superman, X-Men, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Green Lantern, the Hulk - even about independent titles - he taught him everything.
Connor read an issue of Daredevil quietly, a look of appreciation on his face. Andrew felt proud. After a while, Connor looked up. "This - David Mack? He's good. I mean, I like it - the pictures."
Andrew smiled proudly. He was already establishing favorites! "You've come a long way, young Jedi."
Connor blinked. "What's a Jedi?"
Oh, boy.
