The Art of Seduction by Amberina

"You're so pretty, Tru," Candace said softly. Randomly. Looking up from the shiny new issue of Cosmo which was layed out before her on the bed.

Tru laughed and shifted in her seat on the floor. She closed the issue of Seventeen she had been flipping through. "I'm not."

Candace tossed the magazine to the side and slided off of the bed so she was down on the floor with Tru. Looking her in the eyes. "You've got to be kidding me."

"What?" Tru blinked, confused. Candace's blue eyes were burning into her own.

Candace's hand drifted up to Tru's face, gently brushing a piece of stray hair away. Her eyes were still locked with Tru's. "You're gorgeous. You know that, right?"

Tru shifted backwards slightly. What was going on? "I'm really not."

Candace sighed and scooted closer to Tru. Tru's breath caught in her throat as Candace's hand returned to her face. Gently running her finger along her cheek.

"What are you . . ."

Tru's words, and train of thought, were cut off by Candace's lips. Soft and tasting like artificial strawberry lipgloss flavoring. It lasted for all of a split second.

There was silence between the two as Candace pulled away.

Tru was confused. She enjoyed the kiss. It wasn't that Candace was a girl that confused her so much, but that she was Candace. Her best friend.

Candace started laughing and Tru wanted to cry.

"I so had you going," Candace said with a grin, opening the issue of Cosmo and pointing to an article about the art of seduction. "I am the Queen of Seduction! Bow before me, lowly creature! Bow!"

Tru was speechless. What . . .

" . . . did you just call me a lowly creature?"

Candace shrugged. "It's a figure of speech." She continued to flip through her magazine. "Ooh, apparently black in the new black."

"Imagine that," Tru said softly, returning to her own magazine.
